The very sweet rescue dog Miss Macy, a 9 year old female Terrier cross, presented to MHVC after a new lump was noticed by her foster carer in her mammary region.
Macy was only recently desexed as a mature girl, making her more susceptible to this type of tumour.
Radiographs were taken of her chest prior to surgery to ensure there wasn’t any spread of the cancer to her lungs.
Dr Jaime took her to surgery to have the lump and surrounding mammary tissue removed.
Macy is recovering well with her brother Monty after her big procedure thanks to the great care and support of the HAART dog rescue team.
